Protests.. boycotts...

There is a controversy about a popular bollywood actor who is being targeted unnecessarily for his supportive remarks for the people displaced by the Narmada dam construction. Now this is actually very unfair on the part of the the ruling party of Gujrat to dwell into such petty issues. Indirectly forcing the multiplex and theatre owners to ban the actors latest movie, Fanaa, is not what we call democracy. In the words of a newspaper editor, bycotting something is validated on two counts. First it should be backed by valid reasons.. second, no violence or threat of violence should be involved. This 'boycott' fails on both these counts. Actions like these may affect the cosmo image of Gujrat.
But as its said there is some positive in the greatest of adversities, the ban of this film may turn out to be a boon for the people of gujrat as the movie is overly pathetic. One of my colleague is still in state of shock after watching the movie. He keeps repeating the on screen dialogues. Loose screenplay. Kiddish dialogues. Stupid Coincidences. I'm sure this movie can be missed with ease.

The people should thank Government of Gujrat for their foresightedness.

its no clandestine knowledge that the politicians of our country have always indulged in trivial issues like these time over time, and this time too, the bullshit they are now dishing out with respect to the actor's comments is a testimony to the fact that politics in India is not only in wrong wasteful exploiting dirty hands but sadly ridden with impetuous individuals who seek nothing but self-aggrandizement and hogging the limelight for the most ridiculous reasons.

we can only hope the situation in Gujrat brightens before it goes out of hand and the so-called politicians involve themselves with graver issues plaguing our country...

as far as the movie is concerned, its one of those silly trash that yashraj films so effortlessly come up with these days...the music is sadly disappointing too(much to my surprise!)

P.S. the underlying humor in your post has come out really well...

Agreed that issue of narmada dam has been blown out of proportion, but each issue has it's pros and cons. Though the film-actor may support the people displaced by the Narmada dam construction, but people in Gujrat need Narmada water for their survival.

And as for the movie...I completely agree wit u, it was pathetic and a complete waste of time...with no story line...and a kid after 7 yrs...makes no sense. just an over-hyped film.(as expected...yash-raj wit neal-nikki)
