Insure my Pet

The thought never occurred to me, until I actually saw something like this already existing in the UK consumer market. Pet Insurance is what I am talking about.

Back in India lot many people love their pets more than anyone else but haven't seen anyone getting them insured. Also to my knowledge no insurance company was offering pet insurance cover. But a little googling showed that we apparently do have some insurers that have pet insurance portfolio (pet means only dog in this case). [Source]

Coming back to UK, its a big market here. Almost every popular store that sells insurance (self or as corporate partner) offers pet insurance. And not surprisingly the policies are sold like hot cakes. One leading bank here has nice and 'lucrative' features that made me think at least once about getting a dog and buying a policy for it. Some of these features are listed below.

Up to :
£7,500 per year for veterinary fees
£2,000 for the death of your pet due to an accident or an illness.
£2,000 for the loss or theft of your pet.
£1,000 for advertising costs, should your pet go missing.
£750 for emergency kennel or cattery fees.
£2,500 should you have to cancel your holiday because of your pet.
£1million third party liability cover.
and also –Veterinary and Pet Minder Helplines

Impressive figures. More insurance cover than a person will ever have in a developing world.
People who care and can afford it have full rights to do it. And what better opportunity for companies looking for some new business. I wonder what more can we insure.. which is not covered by any portfolio yet.

Websited !!

Well.. this was something I was amazed to see (or rather not to see).

I haven't seen hardly any search on the net that results in the proper use of the word 'Websited'. When I google the word what I get is mostly mistyped words. The word 'Websites' has often been mentioned as 'Websited'. The reason appears simple. The letter 'S' and 'D' are neighbours on the English keyboard. So one ends up pressing the wrong letter sometimes.

But again I wonder that when 'websited' is such an obvious word (at least to me) why hasn't it been used with proper intention and respect so far. The word could mean lot of things.
One use of the word will be when one gets a website from someone else, we can say that the the first person has been websited.

Example - Abhishek was recently websited by the company Huge H who built him www.abhisheksarin.com.
The website that I have mentioned above intentionally is a sleek one. Its been developed on a cigarette pack quite literally. Huge H (www.hugeh.com) has done a nice compilation here.

But coming back to the original note, I feel if no one takes the responsibility of creating this word then I will quite humbly :) declare my ownership on the usage of this word. All rights reserved.

Anyone who gets a website for herself is 'websited'.

Some years back I had coined another word which I thought was quite innovative - Singtones. Song equivalent of the mobile ringtones. But then after googling I found that the word is being used by some people already. So did not write a post that time :)
